The House That Ruth Built

Today, Sunday, is a sad day, as it is the last game at fabled Yankee Stadium. The pinstripes can be found next season across the street at the new billion dollar Yankee Stadium. Tonight at Seven, ESPN will cover the final game at "the house that Ruth built," as the Yank's play the Toronto Blue Jays.

I have been a life-long Yankee, fan growing up in NY, and watching quite a few games at the old stadium. Today is a day of mixed emotions with the closing of the old stadium, and the begining of a new era with the newly constructed stadium. Yankee Stadium has a classic history including 26 World Championship rings, a super bowl, a Beetles concert, Josh Hamilton breaking the HR Derby record, the Pope has spoken there, not to mention many, many, amazing baseball games between the Yankee's and opponents. It is sad to see this great venue's last game, however the new and improved Yankee Stadium looks HUGE and better be worth the billions the Yanks and taxpayers in NY are paying for it.
